Delhi kids to play with colours on Rahul's 40th b'day tomorrow


New Delhi, Jun 18 (UNI) The Delhi Pradesh Youth Congress (DPYC) is all set to celebrate 40th birth anniversary of Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi tomorrow.

''We are organising a drawing and painting competition on the occasion which is open to all the children in the capital,'' a DPYC spokesperson told UNI today.

He said it was decided in a meeting headed by the DPYC President and MLA Anil Chaudhary. The competition is divided in three sections according to the age groups -- up to six years, six to 15 years and 15 years and above.

''Each participant will also get an opportunity to write a message for Mr Gandhi,'' Mr Chaudhary said. The competition will be held from 0900 hrs to 1100 hrs
in nine districts of Delhi.

He said last year also, a similar painting competition was held. ''The best chosen paintings from last years' participants will be put on exhibition, called 'Chitra Kala Pradarshini','' he said.

Aiming to avail the opportunity to celebrate the 125 glorious years of the formation of the Congress party, it has been decided that the DPYC will bear all the expenses of the education of one deserving child for an year from each district.

''Apart from the 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize, we will adapt one deserving child from each district and his or her cost of education for one year will be borne by the DPYC,'' the spokesperson said.
